List Privacy
The list privacy settings in the Snipi Toolbar allow you to make the items you snip - Public, for Friends Only or Private. These settings are for Snipi.com only. If you choose to send an item (or a list of items) to Facebook or WordPress, we cannot control your privacy settings on those sites.
The list privacy settings are explained below.
- Public - Anyone visiting Snipi.com can view your items in your profile.
- Friends Only - Only people who are your "friends" on Snipi.com will be able to view your items.
- Private - Only you will be able to view your items on Snipi.com.
For instance, if you make a list private in the Snipi Toolbar, you will be the only person who will be able to view the items in that list on Snipi.com. However, if you also select to send the items in that private list to Facebook, your privacy settings on Facebook will control who can see those items. They will still remain private on Snipi.com but will be available for viewing on Facebook.
Twitter Recommendations
Snipi will automatically prohibit you from tweeting an item in a private list (a message is displayed letting you know). If the list is private, the link sent out to your Twitter followers will not be accessible. Therefore, there's no point in allowing you to tweet an item in a private list.
If you tweet an item in a "Friends Only" list, remember that only your friends on Snipi.com will be able to see it. So, this is not the recommended setting for items you want to tweet. We recommend that any items you want to tweet be dragged into a Public list. This will make it accessible to anyone who follows you on Twitter, whether or not they are registered for, or your friend on, Snipi.com.
